Together We Dazzle

Annual Art Show + Benefit

★ ★ ★ ★

☆ This show was inspired by my recent diagnosis of a genetic condition called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.
The Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes (EDS) are a group of thirteen heritable connective tissue disorders.

☆ My symptoms escalated when I was 19 and only recently led to my diagnosis at the age of 29. I will share more about my story on my upcoming blog page but ultimately I am not unique in having dedicated a decade of life to understanding my health before finding answers.

☆ There is a phrase in the medical field - if you hear hoofbeats, think of a horse, not a zebra - meaning to look for the more likely explanations before considering outliers. Since EDS is so difficult to diagnose, the symbol became the zebra. A group of zebras is called a dazzle, making Together We Dazzle the motto of the Ehlers-Danlos Society.

☆ Since its inception in 2016, the Ehlers-Danlos Society has had an exponential impact on the community.
Spreading awareness and raising funds are critical to helping people get diagnosed and receive proper care.

☆ We host the annual art shows in Athens, Georgia. We raise money by donating a percentage of all artwork sales and collecting ticket entries to our opening and closing receptions.

☆ We have held shows in 2023 and 2024 and our 2025 show opens August 1st at the K. A. Artist Shop!

This annual art show aims to raise awareness and funds for the Ehlers-Danlos Society while celebrating our artistic community.
