Together We Dazzle
Annual Art Show + Benefit
This annual art show aims to raise awareness of EDS, donations for the Ehlers-Danlos Society, and support our creative community.
Storytelling Through Art
Artwork can give us a way to channel our life experiences. This show offers artists the option to share the story behind their work for viewers to read.
☆ This show was inspired by my diagnosis of a genetic condition called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.
The Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes (EDS) are a group of thirteen heritable connective tissue disorders.
☆ My symptoms escalated when I was 19 and only recently led to my diagnosis at the age of 29. The average time it takes to get diagnosed with EDS is 10-13 years. Spreading awareness and raising funds are critical to helping people get diagnosed and receive proper care.
☆ There is a phrase in the medical field - if you hear hoofbeats, think of a horse, not a zebra - meaning to look for the more likely explanations before considering outliers. Since EDS is so difficult to diagnose, the symbol became the zebra. A group of zebras is called a dazzle, making Together We Dazzle the motto of the Ehlers-Danlos Society .
☆ We host these annual art shows in Athens, GA and raise money by donating half of all artwork sales and 100% of all zebra artwork. Read more about each show below.
☆ Our 2026 show is on view now at Hendershot’s! Join our closing party Sunday, June 28th from 3-6pm ☆
