Our mission is to raise awareness and funds for the Ehlers-Danlos Society while celebrating the arts and the artists in our community.
This show was inspired by my recent diagnosis of a genetic condition called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. The Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes (EDS) are a group of heritable connective tissue disorders. After searching for a decade, I was diagnosed with Hypermobile EDS which inspired the creation of this show.
There is a phrase in the medical field - if you hear hoofbeats, think of a horse, not a zebra - meaning to looks for the most obvious explanation before considering any outliers. Since EDS is so difficult to diagnose, the symbol became the zebra. A group of zebras is called a dazzle, making Together We Dazzle the motto of the Ehlers-Danlos Society, which I adopted as the title of this show.
2023 marked the beginning of this annual benefit and after being amazed by such a beautiful turnout, I am eager to watch this vision soar over years to come! Discover more below! ~Christina
